Well, that’s  a wrap! Derby weekend has officially come to an end. While I already cannot wait till next year; I must say it is a very exhausting weekend! This year, I went to both Oaks and Derby, experiencing all the fun and festivities! For Oaks, I went to the infield where there is much more of a “partying” Derby experience. For Friday, I decided to wear one of my favorite dresses from my Derby postings by Amanda Uprichard! I paired this dress with my old faithful Tory Burch Sandals, and was well equipped for a long day of standing and walking! While in the infield there isn’t anywhere to sit, unless you bring fold-out chairs or a blanket to lay out on the lawn, so if in miserable shoes-you may definitely pay for it! On Derby, I wore one of my all-time favorite dresses I purchased over the summer from Kin Los Angeles in California and have been storing it away for a worthy event! This dress was amazing as it was not too hot, it was comfortable, it matched my fascinator, and it of course made a huge statement! With such a bold dress, I decided to go with a simpler fascinator I purchased a few years back and have worn again and again!

In all, I had a very successful weekend and would not have done it any other way. For Oaks I experienced the craziness of the infield on a sunny, breezy day where the weather could not have been more perfect! Then on Derby I sat in a box with friends and bet all day on the horses! With about an even number of wins and loses, I came home about even! A box was perfect for betting, watching the races and was especially great being undercover during a short burst of rain! I am already counting down the days til next Derby and can’t wait to begin studying next years horses early for a chance to win big!

Can you believe it?! Derby is less than a week away and the week leading up to Derby is beyond busy in Louisville..with the annual Boat race, Derby parties, Thurby (Thursday at the track), and many other Derby Festival events, a casual, throw-on dress is always needed. I love this outfit for any of these events I’ve mentioned, as well as just being a great go-to for any outdoor, fun, event. With jewelry and the right shoes, this dress can easily be dressed up but is also very casual paired with sandals. It’s great outfit to take from day to night! Plus-it’s very budget friendly. These pairings are especially great to wear to Thurby, as it is slightly more casual than Oaks and Derby. A cute dress with some fun accessories and a simple headpiece-you’ll be set for a day at the track and whatever event you may be attending after.

I absolutely adore this necklace because like the dress, it can be paired so many ways. Don’t even get me started on these shoes though..They are by far one of my favorite purchases I have made all year because of their amazing price! You may not believe it, but they were under $70. I know right? Totally crazy. If I had a dime for the amount of times people have mistaken me for wearing Valentinos..well let’s just say I probably could be treating myself to another pair.

AHHH! I am so excited to finally share with you Snapped by Gracie’s newest website! This is a project I have been working on with the amazing Stephanie of How Sweet Designs and frankly..I’m in love. While there is still some to do before it is finished…those of you loyal followers I am sure can tell the dramatic differences in the logo and overall appearance. If you would be so kind…Comment below your thoughts!! I LOVE hearing from you all.

Anyways, ready for some more Derby inspo?! Today I am featuring another one of my favorite brands, Amanda Uprichard, for some spring and Derby pieces. Amanda Uprichard is perfect for this time of the year as they carry a wide variety of options for absolutely anyone! Here I am sharing two silk, bright pieces that are perfect for the track with their lightweight, beautiful material!IMG_1285

In the first option..This bright pink, longer dress with slits up the sides is a great basic with a unique feature! For those of you who say hats aren’t your thing…..pair some statement jewelry as your accessory instead.
