Happy Fit Friday! As all my instagram (@gracieparish) and snapchat (gracieparish) followers know..I have been traveling a ton lately with many more trips coming up!! No matter how you are vacationing, whether it be for work, pleasure, family..even if it is a trip to relax..I believe it is vital to stick to your fitness goals. As a matter of fact, working out on vacation is often my favorite time to work out! Lately all my trips have been travel for work and I have been crazy busy-but I always make sure I never sacrifice my fitness routine. As I’ve said, exercise makes me work that much more efficiently ! Even when I’m not on vacation for work though, starting my day off early with a good sweat ensures I get the most out of my vacations. Today I am sharing various ways how to sweat on vacation and why it will improve your vacation as a whole! Don’t believe me? Keep reading, try it, then tell me what you think! 😉
How to Sweat On Vacation..
Group Classes:
When traveling to big cities, I love researching before hand how people in that city are sweating and attending group classes. Group classes are a great way to meet people in the city and get the full experience of wherever you are traveling by living like a local (which is definitely my favorite way to travel-who knows the city better than a local!). A huge trend across the country is spin classes, and I cannot deny the fact I am honestly obsessed. Every time I travel, I love attending different spin classes and with each city comes a new community, new studio, and new overall workout. Spin classes are not the only trendy studio workouts throughout the country though-boutique fitness studios are popping up everywhere in all sorts of ways! Some cities have trampoline studios, some have new indoor surfing classes, others are into stair steppers, climbing workouts, dance, bootcamps, almost all cities have spin, yoga, and barre now..the possibilities are endless and I adore trying them all! Changing up your workout is the best way to begin seeing changes in your body, so vacation is the perfect time to try something new! Find a class that sounds interesting to you and go for it. You have nothing to lose but a whole lot to gain! From working out in other cities I have realized what workouts I like, what workouts I don’t like, made some amazing friends and connections, learned about the city, and improved my physical fitness by challenging myself with something new. While you are there, I encourage you to talk to the staff at the desk, other people in your class, you’re instructor..ask them their favorite things to do in the city! Whether it be shopping recommendations, restaurant recommendations, their favorite local coffee shop, or just tips for getting around, you’ll get some insider tips different from the ones from your concierge who advises all other tourists too!
Go For a Run, Walk, Hike, or Maybe Even Bike! :
Maybe you’re not in a city with fitness studios or maybe you just need some time to yourself..a change of scenery makes for the best outdoor workouts and can be done absolutely anywhere! Running along the coast or hiking in the mountains are great ways to sweat with amazing views; Jogging along the sidewalks of an unknown city before the sun rises allows you to take in the beauty, familiarize yourself with the city, and discover all the city’s hidden treasures before the crowds come in; Now some cities even have ‘city bikes’ so you can bike to your next destination instead of calling your uber! Sometimes going back to the basics and taking time for yourself are the best ways to relax .
Often times the highlight of my trips are the time I spend working out and even if you don’t like exercise..I promise it can be this way for you too! Are you going anywhere soon? How will you be sweating? Comment below!
