Give Back With The Shine Project

As you guys know..I love giving back, and I obviously love fashion, so when I found the Shine Project I could not have been more in love!! When I first came across this brand, I saw some bracelet stacks on instagram and thought they were so cute, I had to have some! They were the perfect statement piece while still not being too much, and still being very casual for an everyday look! I immediately went to their website to buy some of my own when I found they were a Jewelry Company that had started as a nonprofit, with the goal to help employ inner city youth in America and help them pay their way through college! I read more and more about the organization and found it was started by a young girl named Ashley, who wanted to make a difference for kids who didn’t see college as an option for them. Today, the Shine Project is located in downtown Phoenix and is a place where students can come hand make jewelry and run everything on the business side! This not only helps kids make enough money to go to college, it provides them with essential business skills to use in the real world after they graduate. Students are involved in running everything from customer service, shipping, jewelry design, t-shirt design, new product design, sales, and events. The students who are given scholarships through the nonprofit are then given jobs through Threads, so they can be mentored and guided every step of the way.
