These days…Blowouts are all the rage and I am beaming with excitement that Louisville’s very own Drybar is officially open!! I have loved Drybar ever since I tried it for the first time in New York, when the only blowout bars were in big cities! Now, these salons are becoming accessible almost everywhere! Drybar is revolutionizing blowouts with their slogan of “no cuts, no color, just blowouts”, they do one thing and do it well. I cannot tell you how lucky we are to have the original blowout bar! Drybar started the blowout trend years ago in 2008 behind the mastermind of Alli Webb with mobile blowouts! Alli gave just blowouts to clients in L.A., based on referrals only-which she soon outgrew, leading to the birth of Drybar. The Louisville location is lucky enough to have a fully equipped staff trained by Drybar experts from California! This place is the real deal people, so get in there if you haven’t already!
To start your process, you choose what to order from the Drybar Menu. This consists of many different hairstyles varying from all sorts of curly styles, wavy styles, or straight styles for just about any hair type! They even have an adorable “Shirly Temple” for young girls! At first, I could not choose… Shall I go with the Cosmo? or the Mai-Tai? Then, I saw the perfect solution. The Cosmo-Tai! This is the perfect style for me as I love loose, natural, clean curls that aren’t too tight but also not too curly!
All Drybar’s products and styling tools are Drybar made (which trust me..this is definitely a plus!). As you all know, I adore Buttercup (blog post here) but I also love just about every other product they make! I’m obsessed with their Blonde-ale to help blondes maintain color and avoid a “brassy” look, The Dry Shampoo-Detox, and the deep conditioner-Mudslide! Be sure to look for some beauty reports on those soon to come and even more products as I continue to test them out!
The blowout took about 45 minutes and I could not have been happier with the end result! These curls were perfect for absolutely any occasion and looked great to go to dinner with some friends after! I love the idea of blowouts for absolutely anyone! Majority of blowouts are $40 with memberships available for the blowout addict to just put it on the tab ;)!
