Well, that’s a wrap! Derby weekend has officially come to an end. While I already cannot wait till next year; I must say it is a very exhausting weekend! This year, I went to both Oaks and Derby, experiencing all the fun and festivities! For Oaks, I went to the infield where there is much more of a “partying” Derby experience. For Friday, I decided to wear one of my favorite dresses from my Derby postings by Amanda Uprichard! I paired this dress with my old faithful Tory Burch Sandals, and was well equipped for a long day of standing and walking! While in the infield there isn’t anywhere to sit, unless you bring fold-out chairs or a blanket to lay out on the lawn, so if in miserable shoes-you may definitely pay for it! On Derby, I wore one of my all-time favorite dresses I purchased over the summer from Kin Los Angeles in California and have been storing it away for a worthy event! This dress was amazing as it was not too hot, it was comfortable, it matched my fascinator, and it of course made a huge statement! With such a bold dress, I decided to go with a simpler fascinator I purchased a few years back and have worn again and again!
In all, I had a very successful weekend and would not have done it any other way. For Oaks I experienced the craziness of the infield on a sunny, breezy day where the weather could not have been more perfect! Then on Derby I sat in a box with friends and bet all day on the horses! With about an even number of wins and loses, I came home about even! A box was perfect for betting, watching the races and was especially great being undercover during a short burst of rain! I am already counting down the days til next Derby and can’t wait to begin studying next years horses early for a chance to win big!
